Sunday School
Our Sunday School department is led by Jerome Guillotte. Linda Prince assists with secretarial duties. This department provides outstanding Biblical learning experiences for the various ages of children and youth, from the Toddler Class to the Youth Class. All Sunday School classes are held at 10:00 AM, simultaneous with the main service, which is held in the sanctuary. Pastor A.L. Lyle preaches in the main service most Sunday mornings.
We would be delighted for you and your family to enjoy the blessings planned for you on Sunday mornings at Calvary Pentecostal Church!
Toddler Class

The Toddler Class is taught by Bethany Duncan and Jenna Tishmack. These two young ladies work hard in providing a mixture of fun and learning for our toddlers.
Bethany says, "We get to teach what we feel is the most important class at CPC, because it is the youngest and first class that children in Sunday School get oriented with. Children in our class are from age two to four. We teach them simple Bible lessons with puppets, music, crafts, and anything else we can get our hands on."
According to Jenna, "Our main objective in our class is to teach our children basic Bible stories in fun, memorable ways. We focus a lot of attention on the importance God's love and our relationship with others. We want our children to understand how exciting the Word of God can be and how it applies to our lives even at such a young age."
A typical Sunday morning begins with sing-a-long Bible songs and puppets. The majority of the time, however, is spent on arts-and-craft projects that emphasize our lesson. One of the final things is snack time, which is usually the children's favorite! After snack, any remaining time is used for free-play. It's always an exciting time of fun and fellowship for our little ones.
Beginner Class

The Beginner Sunday School class includes the five to seven year olds and is taught by John and Jessica Istre. As the children come into the classroom in the morning, they deposit their offering in "Noah's Ark," recite their memory verse, and check to see what their job is for the day. Jobs range from the "paper passer" to the "money counter." Tickets are then handed out to the students for attendance, reciting the memory verse, bringing a Bible, bringing offering, and bringing a visitor. When a child receives ten tickets, he/she can buy prizes from the "Kidz Town Store." After offering is collected, memory verses are recited, and tickets are given out, we take prayer requests. Prayer requests are always comical among this age group, ranging from "My grandma's big toe hurts" to "My cat needs prayer because it died yesterday." After praying for the multiple requests, we have a short Bible lesson. Bible lessons are usually acted out, allowing each student to serve as a character in the story. Questions are asked after the lesson, and then a fun worksheet is given. Sometimes we will have time for a small craft or a game such as "Bible Basketball" or "Bible Hangman." Our students have so much fun in our class, and visitors are always welcome!
Primary Class

The Primary Class is taught by Chris and Pam Louvierre and accommodates eight and nine-year-olds. The Louvierres provide an interesting time of fun, fellowship, and study of the Word of God for this age group.
Preteen Class

The Pre-teen Class is for ages ten and eleven and is taught by LaMesia Pierce. This class is the 'tweener' class, comprised of students that are too old for the 'kid stuff' and are looking forward to joining the youth group. Students are challenged with learning Scriptures, question and answer sessions, critical thinking situations, Bible stories with life applications, and the anticipation of wondering what could happen next in class. The goal of the pre-teen class is to help and point out to each student that they can live for God in the middle of peer pressure and an ungodly world.
Teen Class

Our teen Sunday School Class, ages twelve through fourteen, is led by Reginald and Julie Cox. The class is filled with dynamic lessons on the Word of God and is always open for a little excitement! Our youth are very energetic and inquisitive. The students participate in many discussions about various Bible topics and many of our students are on the Senior Bible Quiz team. This is not a class you want to miss!
Youth Class

The Youth Class is comprised of students in high school through age 21 and is taught by Rev. Sammy Frioux. Lessons are geared toward topics of interests to youth, and basic doctrinal teachings are emphasized.
