Rev. A.L. Lyle was born in 1944 in De Quincy, Louisiana and was baptized and received the Holy Ghost in 1954. Bro. Lyle began his ministry as a teenage evangelist in 1963, and in 1964, he married his teenage sweetheart, Carolyn Alston. Together, as a team, they immediately began working for the kingdom of God.

Shortly after their marriage, Bro. Lyle began pastoring a church in central Louisiana. Later, in 1966, while doing evangelistic work, Bro. Lyle was called to Jayess, Mississippi where he pastored for two years.

In 1969, Bro. Lyle began pastoring in Topsy, Louisiana (near Lake Charles). During their tenure in Topsy, the Lyle’s built a new church and had a great revival. In 1974, Bro. Lyle received the call to Calvary Pentecostal Church in Jeanerette, where he presently continues to serve as pastor. In 1980, Bro. Lyle led the construction of the present church facility. Under the Lyle’s leadership, the Jeanerette church has flourished.

Bro. Lyle has preached on radio programs for over 30 years with 28 years on a continuous program. Bro. Lyle’s ministry has carried him to camp meetings, conferences, and revivals across the nation and around the world. Bro. Lyle has traveled extensively internationally, more than once traveling around the world.

Bro. Lyle has had an interest and burden for missions, causing him to lead the congregation at Calvary Pentecostal Church to an active involvement in missions here at home and worldwide.
